Mamadou Diallo of Guinea designated as Officer-in-Charge for MINUJUSTH

Port-au-Prince, Tuesday, 8 May 2018Dr. Mamadou Diallo, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Haiti, was designated Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) following the appointment of Ms. Susan D. Page to the position of Special Adviser to the Secretary General on the Rule of Law, Global Focal Point Review.

Dr. Diallo, who is also UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, will lead the mission until the time the Secretary General appoints his new Special Representative.

MINUJUSTH, whose mandate was recently extended until 15 April 2019 by the United Nations Security Council, was created in October 2017 to assist the Government to strengthen rule of law institutions in Haiti, further support and develop the HNP, and engage in human rights monitoring, reporting and analysis.
