MINUJUSTH
United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti

Closure of MINUJUSTH

The United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) completed its mandate on 15 October 2019, concluding 15 years of UN peacekeeping in Haiti. The United Nations family continues to support Haiti through the United Nations agencies, funds, and programmes in the country, and through the Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH).

MINUJUSTH takes stock of the progress made by Haiti during the first 18 months of its mandate

The United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) will close on 15 October 2019, marking the transition towards a United Nations’ presence in the country without a peacekeeping operation. The Security Council has authorized a final six-month extension, as scheduled, to complete a mandate focused on three pillars: Rule of Law, Human Rights and Police. On this occasion, the mission takes stock of the progress made by Haiti during the last 18 months under the umbrella of its partnership with MINUJUSTH.
